FAQs
General
Where are you based?
I am based in Kensington & Chelsea, London, but I am able to travel anywhere in UK and abroad.
Drop me a message if you would like to know more information.
How do the services work?
Once you get in touch with your request, I will confirm availability and the price of the service you need. Make sure your message includes rough idea for your makeup/occasion, date/time, location, number of people etc.
You will then have 48h to pay deposit (40% of the price) to complete your booking.
On the day of your appointment I will meet you on location of your choice. We will discuss all the details for the makeup, make sure it compliments your outfit and occasion and complete the look.
Are lashes included in the service?
Yes, application of false lashes is already included in the price of all of the services I offer.
How long will it take to complete my makeup?
Every makeup application is a unique experience so not all applications take same amount of time to be completed. However it usually takes 1h to 1,5h, to complete full face of makeup. This may vary depending on your specific makeup request. Knowing what kind of makeup you want to go for and notifying me in advance can shorten the amount of time needed for the application.
Are you a mobile makeup artist?
Yes I’m mobile makeup artist based in Kensington & Chelsea, London. I can travel anywhere around UK and abroad. Location or destination should always be discussed prior to the booking to secure availability. All travel expenses outside central London are charged separately.
What are additional expenses that could be charged on top of the price for my special occasion makeup?
Any extra costs that might be charged to you will always be discussed in advance. That means you will always know in advance if there is anything you might be having additional charges for (no hidden fees).
Here are a few examples of what might increase the prices stated on my website:
- travel expenses outside central London,
- early morning start (normally for appointments starting before 7am)
- any special requests that will require ordering special makeup or accessories (except lashes),
- any special requests that will require longer slot (over 90min) or a makeup assistant,
- overnight accommodation if required (depends on location)
When getting ready for event, is it better to have my hair done first or my makeup first?
This is up to your preferences. However it might be easier to have your hair done first, especially if your hair appointment includes hair washing and drying. Water and heat might affect the longevity and finish of your makeup.
Wedding
What is the difference between an Evening makeup and a Wedding makeup?
There are quite few differences between evening and wedding makeup, but the biggest difference is probably that weddings are usually an all day event with many photos taken throughout the whole day, therefore the makeup should be photo ready and lasting for the duration of the day without budging, smudging and melting off.
This is why I highly recommend to book a professional wedding makeup artist for this occasion. An experienced makeup artist will know how to make you look fresh, glowing and camera ready, while assuring that your makeup stays in place by using professional and high quality products.
Will my Wedding makeup last all day?
Wedding makeup is designed to last all day. It’s build by layering skin prepping and priming products, long lasting foundation and set with powders and makeup sprays. This assures longevity, without looking heavy or cakey. Some of the product I use are waterproof, this helps to avoid any makeup malfunctions.
The only product that might need a little touch up throughout the day is your lipstick/lipgloss. There will be a lot of kissing, eating and drinking at the wedding and even the longest lasting products might not be able to resist it all.
This is another reason why I recommend to have a trial first- this way you can put the makeup to test and see how it lasts throughout the day.
How long will it take to have my wedding makeup done on the day?
It can take anywhere between 1,5h to 2,5h to complete the look.
Here’s why: wedding makeup should last the whole day and it is very important that the makeup artist invests enough time prepping your skin and applying the makeup, so it will last the whole day, look flawless and photo ready.
While it may sound like 2h is a long time, this should be a very relaxing experience for you, and with the right makeup artist by your side, you should enjoy every minute of it.
To avoid running over time set aside for your makeup on your wedding day, I always recommend having a makeup trial weeks in advance. Knowing what look you’ll be wearing and which products artist should use, makes all the difference.
What is included in the price for Wedding makeup?
Every makeup artist has a different approach to pricing their services. In my case the price includes the following:
- prepping the skin, application of makeup,
- false lashes (if needed),
- setting the makeup,
- skin corrections and contouring on the décolletage, arms, legs and back (if needed)
- and a quick check + touch-up before leaving for the ceremony.
Are lashes included in the price of the wedding makeup?
Yes, application of false lashes is already included in the price of all of the services I offer.
Prices of my makeup services (as stated on the website) are fixed and do not change depending on the style of the lashes or if you choose not to apply false lashes.
Any special request for false lashes (style, quality, brand, type etc.) should be mentioned before service or at the time of the booking. Last minute bookings might not be available for special requests.
Special requests for lashes will not be charged extra, unless the style is exclusive/custom made/ made from special hair or exceeds the budget within the service price in any other way (i.e. postage expenses).
Why do I need a trial for my Wedding makeup?
Wedding makeup trial is not a must, however it is highly recommended.
Knowing how your makeup will look on you wedding day, will help you stay relaxed and enjoy a little pampering moment before walking down the aisle.
At the same time it will help me optimise the amount of time needed to complete your makeup, since I will already know what we discussed and which products to use.
Every makeup artist has slightly different style so wedding trial is a great way for you to potentially try out different makeup artists and find the one who understands your personal style best.
How does a Wedding makeup trial work?
When you send me your enquiry with your wedding date, we will first book in your trial.
In your wedding makeup trial you will have the opportunity to discuss with me your ideas, requests and show references/pictures of the wedding looks that you like.
I can advise you what will work best with your eye colour, skin tone, your wedding dress and hair style. I will always put your preferences first and make sure you’re completely happy with the look.
If you’re not too sure where to start, I can suggest some looks that would suit you best according to your features.
If there’s anything you are not completely happy with during the trial or with the final look, we can always tweak the look and try a different colour, texture, shape or placement. We can also try on different looks to make you more confident with your final choice.
During the trial we will take plenty of pictures of makeup at different stages and of the final look. This way you’ll be able to refer back at any time to easily coordinate with your hair and jewellery. If you change your mind about any element of it, you can reach out to me at any time to discuss the changes or we can meet again and have another trial.
How long is a trial for a Wedding makeup?
A wedding trial can take anywhere between 1,5h to 3h, depending on each brides’ unique preferences. First we will talk about the look you had in mind and I will be there to support you in your decision and offer suggestions to compliment your features in the best possible way. We will take lots of pictures during and after the application for reference.
If after 3h trial we don’t arrive to a final decision, we will have to book another trial.
Why is the Wedding makeup trial charged separately?
The main reason why wedding makeup trial is charged separately is that having a trial with a makeup artist doesn’t automatically oblige you to book them for your wedding day.
It’s an opportunity to see if your and your artists’ ideas and makeup style match, so you can reassure yourself, before making the decision.
How many guests can I add to my bridal party for a make-up appointment on my wedding day?
You can have as many bridesmaids, friends and family members as you like, however you have to book everyone in advance. Depending on number of guests and time allowed for makeup, I might bring along an assistant (or two) to make sure everyone is ready on time. Any last minute bookings might be charged more than stated on the website or turned down if timing doesn’t allow.
What are additional expenses that could be charged on top of the price for my wedding makeup?
Any extra costs that might be charged to you will always be discussed in advance. That means you will always know in advance if there is anything you might be having additional charges for (no hidden fees).
Here are a few examples of what might increase the prices stated on my website:
- travel expenses outside central London,
- early morning start (normally for appointments starting before 8am)
- any special requests that will require ordering special makeup or accessories (except lashes),
- any special requests that will require a makeup assistant,
- overnight accommodation if required (depends on location)
How does it work to have a makeup artist at the Wedding for touch ups until end of the day or change of makeup?
There will be a lot of pictures taken on your wedding day and you might want me to stay behind for touch ups. This needs to be agreed in advance and you can choose how long you want me to stay: few hours, half day or until the end of event.
You can also choose to have your makeup slightly changed for the reception, however you must take that in account while planning your day. This would be discussed in advance and tried on during your wedding trial.
For any further details, please reach out to me with more details of your wedding plans.
What is the cost of booking a makeup artist for a destination wedding?
Price for booking a makeup artist for destination wedding includes accommodation, transportation (if not provided by you) and a daily rate for every day that you request my presence for.
If it’s a few days event, you and your guests can request to have your makeup done every day.
Each makeup application will be charged separately, or depending on volume of appointments I can quote you a fixed daily rate with all makeup applications included (except your wedding makeup).
If there are many guests on your wedding day that wish to join in for makeup appointment, I can invite along a makeup assistant.
Touch-ups on your wedding day are complimentary (until end of the day).
If you are planning a destination wedding, your wedding makeup trial would always take place before departure.
Please get in touch for more informations.
